BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — The Palestinian General Directorate of Petroleum on Thursday closed five gas stations that were operating without licenses or below standards in the occupied West Bank town of al-Eizariya, just east of Jerusalem, Palestinian sources said. Sources told Ma’an that the directorate, escorted by Palestinian security sources, confiscated tanks and equipment at the five stations before closing them down.

The town of al-Eizariya is in Area C, under full Israeli control, so the directorate worked in tandem with the Palestinian and Israeli liaison offices to pre-coordinate the campaign, sources said.
Sources added that the campaign to inspect gas stations for quality standards, particularly those in Area C, would continue.
